Ultimate Guide to Yosemite National PArk

The Ultimate Guide to Exploring Yosemite National Park

May 13, 2021

Yosemite National Park is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited on earth. Since moving to San Francisco in 2016, I’ve visited over a dozen times and I still find myself taking trips back every year. There’s something special about walking the valley floor where I can’t help but feel beautifully small among the granite giants such as El Capitan and Half Dome. It’s where I fell in love with photographing the outdoors and now I’m sharing everything I know in this Ultimate Guide to Exploring Yosemite National Park.

Photographing Yosemite Firefall in 2021 - Here's How to See It

Thousands gather every year for a chance to witness one of Yosemite National Park’s most incredible natural phenomena known as Firefall at Horsetail Fail. If you’ve ever visited Yosemite National Park in the summer, you may not have noticed or heard of Horsetail Fall. It’s a thin silver of a waterfall that flows off the face of El Captain. Just a few weeks every year in February, this magical event occurs where the sun directs a beam of light at the waterfall turning in into what can only be described as molten lava.

Nobody warned me we were going to climb straight up a frozen waterfall! Completely unprepared without micro-spikes I found myself slipping and sliding over boulders and snow. For most of the climb, I had a constant feeling of how I was barley escaping death with each fall that didn’t send me flying down the mountain

Best Places to See Fall Colors in Mammoth Lakes - Go Now

October. The magical time of year when the air is crisp and the leaves suddenly change colors. As you walk the streets, some of the best scents come to life: apple pie, cinnamon, and caramel. You grab your favorite sweater, enjoy a warm mug of hot cider, and head to your neighborhood pumpkin patch. From pumpkin pies to pumpkin spice lattes (PSL), it’s the time of year for pumpkin everything and the internet overloads with #pumpkinspice obsession.

I had plans to visit the east coast this year but due to COVID-19, I wasn’t comfortable getting on a plane yet. Instead I came across this Google Map California Fall Color with the most fitting description “Dude, Autumn Happens Here, Too.” Fall was waiting for me here in California and I wasn’t going to miss it. I packed my bags and headed for a weekend exploring Mammoth and the Eastern Sierras. Thank you Wandrd for sending me a PRVKE camera bag and HEXAD Carryall Travel Duffle which was perfect for this trip! At the bottom of this post, I included a list of my favorite places to eat and drink in Mammoth; there is also a list of resources I used to help track the fall colors!

My 24 Hour Road Trip to Sequoia National Park

July 29, 2020

5 Min Read

I’ve been dreaming of visiting Sequoia National Park in central California for years, which is home to the world’s largest Redwoods and Giant Sequoia trees. Seeing photos of people standing next to these enormous beings, I was in awe. Out of all the national parks I’ve visited, Sequoia National Park is among the most unique and unbelievable. While I tried my best to photograph its beauty, it’s something to be experienced.

Spontaneously though, I rallied a few of my favorite people @realnoice and @lauriesmooz on a Friday evening, we set out for a 24 hour road trip the next morning starting at 4 AM. Due to COVID-19, there were no available campgrounds within the park. Since we only had one day, we were determined to hit the highlights. Here’s everything we did in 24 hours.
